Emergency services, supported by East Lothian Council, have been responding to an overnight fire in a storage warehouse at Eskmills Road/Station Road in Musselburgh.
At its height, nine fire appliances were mobilised. The fire has since been extinguished, with firefighters subsequently supporting efforts to make the area safe.
There is not a significant risk to people working or living in the area, and no special precautions are required. However, members of the public are asked to stay away from the building while it is made safe and cleaned up.
As a result of debris and in the interests of safety, a cordon will remain in place outside the building, with assessment work continuing to take place.
While the stretch of road between the Newhailes Roundabout and Inveresk Road re-opened, the road into Eskmills Road and Station Road (from roundabout near supermarket) remains closed.
The council will continue to closely monitor the situation and work closely with partner agencies as required.
