Exceptional and inspirational leaders who can deliver the very best outcomes for local communities are being invited to apply for the post of Chief Executive at East Lothian Council.
The process to recruit a successor for Monica Patterson, who retires in February, is now underway.
An advert setting out the duties and responsibilities of the post has been published, with applications sought by 20 January.
Key responsibilities include defining organisational priorities, whilst providing advice and evidence to inform decision-making and working with senior leaders to embed these into organisational practice. The role holder will be expected to build on the excellent partnerships which are in place and ensure the council maintains a sharp focus on financial sustainability.
Council Leader Norman Hampshire said:
“It’s an exciting time to take on this role. There are the complex challenges of ongoing financial pressures on local government alongside the immense potential for economic growth in our area. What we do today will shape a legacy for future generations in East Lothian.
“We are a good, well-run council with a strong track record and are seeking candidates who can build on the great work of Monica Patterson to provide efficient, sustainable and high-quality services for the people of East Lothian.”
