People are being invited to provide feedback on updated proposals to promote safe active travel in Musselburgh.
In response to feedback from the local community, more detailed plans for MAT Routes 4, 6 and Edinburgh Road have been developed as part of the Musselburgh Active Toun project.
People can view the designs and provide feedback during a six-week consultation period from 7 October to 18 November.
A dedicated webpage has been set up, with links to online maps and plans. Comments can be left on the website: www.eastlothian.gov.uk/musselburgh-active-toun
Drop-in sessions will be held as follows:
- The Fisherrow Centre (Annex Lounge) - Wednesday 30, October, 5pm – 7pm
- Wallyford Learning Campus (Community Room 1) – Thursday, 7 November, 6pm – 8pm
Members of the design team will be in attendance and available to discuss any questions.

Background
East Lothian Council is working to increase opportunities for people to get around the local area through active travel.
The Musselburgh Active Toun project seeks to create new and improved spaces for walking, wheeling, and cycling, making it easier and safer to travel actively for key journeys. By reducing noise and emissions, people can be supported to choose healthier, more affordable journeys and contribute to an improved local environment.
The sections of the routes being delivered under the Musselburgh Flood Protection Scheme are being consulted on separately. People will have further opportunity to comment on these sections in the coming months.
The more detailed plans being consulted upon have been worked up by consultants AECOM.
The scheme is being funded by Transport Scotland and administered by Sustrans through the Places for Everyone programme.
