Nottingham Rehab Supplies (NRS) who supply and maintain equipment for the Community Equipment Loan Service (CELS) have recently informed East Lothian that they were victims of a cyber security attack.

Specialist teams are currently investigating the extent of the attack. We do not yet know if any personal customer data has been compromised.

As a safeguarding measure, we would encourage service users to be extra vigilant in relation to any contacts or emails receive from people not known to them, who may attempt to scam personal details for illegitimate purposes.

We would also recommend service users consider regularly changing their key safe number, if they have one.  Please remember to update any service providers that are allowed to use key safe with the new number, such as home care staff or telecare providers.

Please remember that any official visitors will carry branded identification badges, which you should ask to see before you allow access to your home.  Genuine callers will always be happy to present their ID badges.

Should you wish to discuss concerns further, or require assistance please contact the Community Access Team on 01875 824309 for advice or support.

If you suspect that you have been targeted by scammers, please report the matter to Police Scotland.
