A free, fun-filled day that celebrates and showcases Musselburgh’s many groups and activities will be held from 11am-3pm on Saturday 30 September.
The Musselburgh Area Partnership Communities Day returns to Fisherrow Community Centre after a four-year hiatus. A wide range of local groups and organisations will be on hand providing activities for visitors of all ages from circus skills and balloon modelling to samba drums, Clark Community Choir, East Coast FM and senior activities. There’s also the chance to find out about key support to cope with the cost of living, local volunteering opportunities and dementia friendly information.
Scott McKail, East Lothian Council’s Connected Communities Manager for Musselburgh, said: “This is the first year we have been able to hold this type of event since before Covid. We decided to focus on ‘Community’ given the challenges our community has faced over the last few years.
“As well as a wide range of fun activities there will be a number of organisations, groups and services present who play a vital role for the community in and around Musselburgh.
“We hope as many people as possible will come along to find out more about the incredible activities available on their doorstep. While they’re visiting they can also help tell us about what else they’d like to see on offer in Musselburgh and contribute to our Area Plan.
“We’re really fortunate to have so many local groups doing incredible work to make Musselburgh a vibrant, welcoming and inclusive town for all ages. The Communities Day is a chance to showcase their work and invite more people to join in.”
