The council and other partners including Police Scotland have been closely monitoring the impact of heavy rain on East Lothian.
A Met Office yellow weather warning for rain remains in place until midnight.
Meetings of the multi-agency, precautionary meeting of the East Lothian Flood Group have been held this afternoon to review the position and weather forecast.
We have also been monitoring the situation in relation to river water levels. As a precaution, some sandbags are being put in place along parts of the River Tyne in Haddington, although it is expected river levels will drop in the hours ahead.
Throughout the day we have received some localised reports of flooding affecting road surfaces which teams have been responding. We will continue to keep a close watching brief as the evening progresses and yellow warning applies.
