Opportunities to upskill, re-train and learn about data science, coding and cyber security.

East Lothian Works and Edinburgh College are excited to announce a number of free face to face and online learning opportunities for people to upskill, retrain and explore data science, coding and cyber security.

Opportunities are fully funded for residents in East Lothian with support from the City Region Deal.

Data science combines digital and data skills. Learners will gain the ability to identify problems, to solve them, extract insights and knowledge from data, carry out analysis and then implement solutions.

You will further look at programming languages Python & R as well as learning about data and cyber security.

There is huge demand in the Edinburgh City Region for employees with data science & data skills.

The learning opportunities are potentially suitable for people who are long-term unemployed, an adult learner wanting to return to further study/work, a young person embarking on their career, ex Armed Forces personnel, or those needing data skills for their job or future role.
