Drop-in COVID vaccination clinics are continuing next week in Musselburgh, Tranent, Prestonpans and East Lothian Community Hospital in Haddington.
Anyone over 18, who has not yet had their first dose can attend a drop-in clinic without an appointment. Those who are waiting for their second dose can turn up as long as they received their first injection of the COVID-19 vaccine at least eight weeks before.
The East Lothian Community Hospital, Haddington, continues to be open for drop-in vaccinations every day, including weekends, from 8.30am-4.30pm. For information on how to get there, follow this link.
The schedule for mobile or pop-up clinics is as follows:
- Monday, 19 July – Tesco car park, Musselburgh (mobile unit). Open 11am-7pm.
- Tuesday, 20 July – Tesco car park, Musselburgh (mobile unit). Open 11am-7pm.
- Wednesday, 21 July – George Johnstone Centre, Tranent (pop-up clinic). Open 9.30am-12pm and 12.30pm-3.30pm.
- Thursday, 22 July – Prestongrange Church Hall, Prestonpans (pop-up clinic). Open 9.30am-12pm and 12.30pm-3.30pm.
People can be vaccinated at any of these locations – it doesn’t matter where someone lives or whether they are registered with a GP practice. Vaccines will be administered on a first come first served basis.
Further information about clinics, including availability elsewhere in the Lothians, can be found on the NHS Lothian website.
Local residents are also being encouraged to continue getting tested regularly – even if they have no symptoms of the virus. It’s possible to be infected, and pass it on, without showing any of the usual symptoms.
Options for getting tested in East Lothian included visiting the test centre at the former Stoneyhill Community Centre in Musselburgh, visiting a mobile testing unit, collecting from a community pharmacy or ordering online for home delivery. Further information is available on the East Lothian Council website.
