A free online event is being held to offer East Lothian employers advice and support on recruiting and retraining staff, including funding support.
We want to help companies excel in their role as employers and take advantage of all the support that is available to them.
Attendees will be able to hear short presentations from four speakers on recruitment, funding, training and development opportunities, reskilling or redundancy including PACE – all tailored for East Lothian. Many of these issues have become more important to businesses in the current economic climate and new channels, such as Kickstart, have emerged. There will be a question and answer session where businesses can ask questions, receive advice on next steps and make connections with organisations who can provide ongoing support in these areas.
The event has been organised by East Lothian Works, the council’s employability hub along with Economic Development, Business Gateway and Skills Development Scotland.
Business Gateway Advisor Steve Newlin will chair the event. He said: “Our event agenda is focused on the key issues that will deliver maximum benefits for East Lothian’s employers. Speakers will provide practical advice on how to take the next steps as an employer – whether that’s growing your workforce, offering training and development or if changes need to be made through redundancy. We want to help companies excel in their role as employers and take advantage of all the support that is available to them.”
The East Lothian Employers Webinar will be held 10-11am on Wednesday 11 November 2020. Places are limited. To find out more and register for the event visit Eventbrite.
