Energy efficiency for the private rented sector
Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES)
East Lothian Council are taking part in a pilot study funded by the Scottish Government which will:
- gather data on energy efficiency of the Private Rented Sector (PRS) in East Lothian
- produce a Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy for the PRS
The strategy will assist private landlords to bring their properties up to the standard set out within the Energy Efficiency Scotland Route Map. These standards will reduce fuel poverty in the PRS, reduce greenhouse gases and contribute to overall improvement in the health and wellbeing of PRS tenants.
