Local Housing Strategy

It is important to us to hear your views on housing within East Lothian. Listening to the individuals and communities in East Lothian is critical to understand what issues matter most and how we can best to move forward through the Local Housing Stategy 2023-2028.

To achieve this, the Housing Strategy Team are running a wide range of different methods to gather information between April and August 2022.

Surveys                                      

Each month the Housing Strategy Team are taking a different housing related topic and creating a survey to gather your views. This is a great and fast way to be involved in the next Local Housing Strategy just by using your phone, tablet or computer. The surveys can be found on our consultation hub.  

Are you a private rented sector landlord or tenant?

The Housing Strategy Team have commissioned Arneil Johnston to conduct research on the private rented sector within East Lothian, hearing both from landlords and tenants. Research will begin shortly. If you are interested in sharing your experience as a landlord for, or as a tenant living in, a private rented sector property please email our team at LHS@eastlothian.gov.uk.

Area Partnerships

To best represent all areas in East Lothian, the Housing Strategy Team will be working closely with our Connected Communities Managers in the next few months to engage within the area partnerships. We will be posting updates on these engagement events as soon as they are available.    

Consultation Workshops

The Housing Strategy Team began consultation workshops in April for our colleagues in East Lothian Council and third sector organisations. We will be continuing these workshops with different groups over the next few months.
