In Work Support

In Work Support is designed to support people across East Lothian who are in work to sustain their employment and to continue to make progress towards their future goals and aspirations.

Our In Work Support Service offers flexible support and training putting the employee at the centre, as everyone is unique. The service will provide a caseworker who will engage with the employee during their employment to elevate their skills and personal development within their current role.  This service includes access to accredited training, careers advice and guidance from our partner agency, Skills Development Scotland, along with continued assistance towards supporting future employment prospects. We are particularly keen to support those that face barriers to sustaining employment, for example those facing in work poverty.

Employers will also benefit through access to core and bespoke training and advice for their workforce, for example staff that may need support to increase their literacy and numeracy skills or targeted support for English Speakers of Other Languages.  Please see our webpage 'Support for Employers' for further information.

Support is available for up to 12 months with a focus on increasing the prospect that each individual sustains their employment and continues to make further developments related to their aspirations, training plans and career goals.
