Alcohol Minimum Unit Pricing
From 1 May 2018 alcohol can only be sold at or above 50 pence per unit.
The minimum unit price for alcohol applies to both:
- Premises that sell alcohol for consumption on/off the premises
- Occasional licences that sell alcohol for consumption on/off the premises
The Scottish Government have created a website which provides guidance and information on minimum unit pricing such as frequently asked questions, example calculations and general guidance on how to make your business MUP ready. For further information and guidance please visit Minimum Unit Pricing for Alcohol.
Any alcohol sold under an occasional licence will also be subject to the alcohol minimum unit price.
All premises and occasional licences will be subject to a mandatory condition from the above date.
If you require any further information on minimum unit pricing, you can contact the licensing team.
