East Lothian Access Study 2: Preliminary Options Appraisal
There's a lot going on in East Lothian. Significant forthcoming local developments include the creation of a new town at Blindwells, the regeneration of the former Cockenzie Power Station site and the creation of the Edinburgh Innovation Park adjacent to Queen Margaret University.
These are expected to have dramatic impacts upon travel patterns and transport infrastructure within and around East Lothian, and therefore provide us with the chance to re-imagine how people get about, in order to enable sustainable, inclusive growth and help build a greener, more inclusive post COVID-19 society.
The Prelimary Options Appraisal for the Access Study narrowed down over 40 options from the 'Case for Change' report into around a dozen more concrete proposals which were consulted on in 2021. The report is currently in the final stages of production and will be available shortly. Stantec is the consultancy undertaking this work on behalf of East Lothian Council.
