Coastal car parks
You can apply for a permit online as detailed below. For any other enquiries please email us leaving your name, telephone number and a description of the issue and we shall answer your query as soon as we can.
If you're planning a visit to one of East Lothian's popular beaches or coastal sites, there is an excellent choice of coastal car parks, many of which have public toilet facilities. These are indicated on the map below. You can zoom into the map and click on each car park for more detailed information about the available facilities.
Parking Charges
Most car parks along our coast are subject to traffic regulations orders and require users to pay a charge to support the ongoing maintenance and management of facilities.
Parking costs just £3 per day and you can use your ticket to visit any of the coastal car parks throughout the day. Tickets can either be purchased from the on-site "pay and display" ticket machines or with cashless payments using RingGo.
There are four parking holidays in the calendar year where parking is free of charge. These are Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and 2 January.
Blue Badge holders are not currently required to pay parking charges.
Parking Enforcement
Please be aware that parking enforcement is undertaken in East Lothian's coastal car parks so if you don't clearly display a valid parking ticket on your vehicle, you could receive a penalty charge of £100.
Overnight Parking
Please note that parking at our Coastal Sites is prohibited between the hours of 11pm and 4am.
Motorhome parking
There are 3 dedicated spaces for campervans at both Shore Rd, Belhaven and Yellowcraigs. The cost is £10 per night and you can't book in advance.
Annual Parking Season Permit
An annual parking season permit costs £50, and can be purchased by clicking on the button below. An annual permit will cover two motor vehicles registered at the household, but only one will be able to use it at any one time, and both registrations should be printed on the permit. Hand written vehicle registrations are not acceptable and you could receive a £100 penalty charge for displaying an invalid permit. If you only enter one vehicle registration in your application, then to add a second vehicle registration you must contact the Parking team, details on this page.
We will only issue one car park permit per application as it can only be used for one vehicle at a time. The permit should be transferred to the vehicle you are using.
Apply for an annual parking season permit
Please note - we are no longer sending out renewal reminders. It is your responsibility to make sure you renew on time and have a valid permit on display.
While your application is being processed you will still have to pay-and-display at the coastal car parks until you receive your permit to display or have requested an electronic dispensation from our parking team.
If you cannot pay online, applications can be made by contacting our parking team, details on this page.
