Book Groups
Making an appointment for Book Group Collections
Private book groups can arrange collection of Book Group Boxes by emailing libraries@eastlothian.gov.uk or by contacting their local library.
Please see the library directory for the contact details and opening times for all branches.
When getting in touch please have the following information ready:
- your name
- book group name
- phone number
- borrower number
- when and where you would like to make the collection of your Book Group Box
Returns
You can return your Book Group Box at any East Lothian library or at Library and Museum Headquarters, Haddington.
If you have any enquiries regarding the Book Group Collections such as amendments to amount of copies required, titles within the Collection or any other queries email libraries@eastlothian.gov.uk
There are several book groups meeting throughout East Lothian. They usually get together about once a month, in the library or private home.
New members are always very welcome and if there isn't an existing group near you, we can consider starting up a new one.
The book groups meet as follows:
- Dunbar: every Monday from 2pm to 3pm.
- Gullane Library: meets on the second Monday of the month at 2:30pm. Another group meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 2pm to 3pm, and they hold a third session every second Saturday 10:30am - 11:30am. Teen and Tween Book Groups - contact the branch for details.
- Haddington Library: The lunchtime book group meets the last Thursday of the month at 12pm to 1pm . Walk And Talk Book Group meet the first Wednesday and first Friday of the month at 10am outside Haddington Library. The Monday evening Book Group meets the last Monday of the month from 5:45pm to 6:45pm.
- Longniddry Library: meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 3pm to 4pm.
- Musselburgh Library: first Tuesday of the month 3pm - 4pm.
- North Berwick Library: Lit Lot group meets on the second Thursday of the month at 6pm. The McIntosh group meets on the third Thursday of the month at 6pm. Morning book group meets on the last Tuesday of the month at 10:30am.
- Ormiston Library: first Friday of the month 2:15pm to 3:30pm.
- Port Seton Library: meets the first Tuesday of the month from 6pm to 7pm in the Port Seton Centre.
- Tranent Library: meets the third Friday of the month from 11am to 12pm. Please contact staff for more information.
