Mobile Library
Unfortunately, the Midlothian Council Mobile Library is off the road awaiting repairs. In the meantime Midlothian Library Service will deliver books to mobile library users. If you would like books delivered then please email at library.hq@midlothian.gov.uk or telephone 07990136894.
Our mobile library service is provided by Midlothian Council Libraries and Live Borders.
Midlothian Council Mobile Library Service
The Midlothian Council mobile library timetable launches the week beginning 8 January 2024 and the timetable will be as follows:
Week 1 - Every two weeks from 8 January 2024
Tuesdays
- Pencaitland Primary School - 9:45am to 10:15am
- East Saltoun Primary School - 10:30am to 11:00am
Fridays
- Cousland - 9:45am to 10:30am
- Humbie - 10:50am to 12:30pm
- Pathhead Roman Camp Way - 1:40pm to 2:10pm
- Pathhead Chapel - 2:15pm to 3:00pm
- Pathhead Crichton Terrace - 3:05pm to 4:00pm
Week 2 - Every two weeks
Thursdays
- Whitecraig Primary School - 9:45am to 10:30am
- Macmerry - 11:20am to 12:15pm
- Pencaitland - 1:15pm to 2:00pm
- East Saltoun Village - 2:15pm to 2:45pm
Fridays
- Cousland - 9:45am to 10:30am
- Gifford - 11:00am to 12:15pm
- Pathhead Roman Camp Way - 1:40pm to 2:10pm
- Pathhead Chapel Place- 2:15pm to 3:00pm
- Pathhead Crichton Terrace - 3:05pm to 4:00pm

Using the new mobile library service
When you use the mobile library service you will be treated as a member of Midlothian Council Library Service and you will be subject to their rules and regulations.
You can still be a member of East Lothian Council Library Service, but items you borrow from any East Lothian Library cannot be returned to the mobile library.
If you are not an existing member and would like to use the mobile service then please following the instructions below :
For the Midlothian Mobile Library- Register online by visiting the Midlothian Libraries web page and join the library Bring ID along to your first visit to the mobile.
You can either call the mobile library on 07990136894 or use the Reserve and Collect web form to reserve items to be collected. Please see the timetable above to request your collection date and location.
