Council Tax charges 2025/26
It was agreed at a meeting of East Lothian Council on Tuesday 18 February 2025 that Council Tax levels would increase by 10% for the financial year 2025/26. The band D level of Council Tax will increase to £1,579.18 for the year.
The Scottish average band D Council Tax figure for 2024/25 was £1,421.00. This figure does not include water or waste water charges.
Your Council Tax bill includes charges for your water supply and waste water collection services from Scottish Water and these charges have increased by 9.9% for the financial year 2025/26. Although we collect these charges on behalf of Scottish Water, we are not responsible for setting these charges.
