The East Lothian Educational Trust provides grants to individuals, groups and clubs for studies or projects of an educational nature.
Who can apply for a grant?
Grants are available to individuals who are residents of the "old" county of East Lothian. This means that of the area currently covered by East Lothian Council, residents of Musselburgh, Wallyford and Whitecraig are unfortunately excluded.
Grants are available to pupils attending school trips and individuals who are undertaking studies, courses or projects of an educational nature, including scholarships abroad and educational travel.
Awards may be subject to some means testing and will be for subject to the lower of the cost of the trip/course cost and £1,000. You will be asked to provide details of your income or your household's income.
Local organisations are also able to apply for funding for projects addressing education, sports and the arts primarily to benefit those in financial hardship or other disadvantage. These grants will typically be in the region of £500 and £2,000.
