After graduating from the University of Glasgow with a degree in Psychology and French, I worked as a research intern for Glasgow EPS on a practitioner enquiry project and then as a Research Assistant in West Lothian. Here, I developed my interest in the psychology of learning, teaching and development to support children individually and at the systemic level. I worked on a number of projects looking at growth mindset, parental engagement, homework and practitioner enquiry.
I started the MSc at the University of Dundee in 2016, completing placements in Edinburgh and East Lothian. I am delighted to now be working in East Lothian. I am passionate about supporting inclusive and nurturing practice to ensure that all learners are given the best opportunities to meet their fullest potential. I love being able to work in a holistic way, using psychology to understand a young person’s strengths and support needs. I enjoy being able to work flexibly to respond to needs and work with young people and those around them (not to or for them) as a collaborative problem-solver. I have particular interests in dynamic assessment, attachment and activity theory. I’m the link EP for the Dunbar cluster.
