My primary school teachers always mentioned my friendly and (sometimes too) chatty personality so it was probably inevitable that I found my way into a profession that involved people and talking. I completed my degree in Psychology at Edinburgh University where there was a great history of child development research and an on-site nursery.
This sparked my interest in how children think and learn and I went onto complete a PhD in this area at Moray House Institute of Education. I enjoyed my time in academic however, my real enthusiasm was for applying the theory and research into practice so it seemed like a natural step to move into the field of Educational Psychology.
