Opening Times

Winter Opening Hours – Community Libraries – Monday 25 November 2024 to Friday 28 February 2025

To avoid short-notice closures and provide a consistent level of service opening hours in our community libraries in East Linton, Gullane, Longniddry, Ormiston and Port Seton will reduce to 1 day per week along with the current Saturday opening pattern from Monday 25 November 2024 until Friday 28 February 2025.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Opening Times from 25 November 2024

Tuesday 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm

Alternate Saturdays - 10am to 1pm

Saturday open dates are -14 December 2024, 11 January 2025 and 25 January 2025

Click and Collect service

Borrowers are able to order specific titles or a selection of items up to a maximum of 6 per person and collect them from the library. Complete the click and collect form below or contact the library direct on:

Home library service

Our home library service is for anyone who is elderly or who needs to stay inside for health reasons.  If you are aware of anyone who has no-one to collect books for them through the click and collect system - we can have books delivered to them. Email libraries@eastlothian.gov.uk identifying who the person is who needs assistance with contact details for them.

Blue badges

Apply or renew online at Gov.uk. If you need assistance to apply for or renew a Blue Badge please telephone 01620 827827 ( ask for Gullane Library) to make an appointment with one of our staff.

  • Bookbug Sessions ( for under 5's) - every Tuesday at 11:00am. Advance booking required
  • Code Club ( for 8 to 12 year olds) - every Monday from 3:45pm to 4:45pm. Booking is essential
  • Craft session ( for children) - every Friday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm. Booking required
  • Games Club - takes place during Kid Zone, every Friday from 2:30pm to 3:30pm
  • Kid Zone - every Friday 2:00pm to 4:30pm (Please note - there is no public access to computers during the Kid Zone sessions)
  • Knit and Natter - every Friday from 10:30am to 12:00pm
  • Lego Club - every Friday at 3:00pm to 4:00pm (takes place during Kid Zone)
  • Monday Book Group - second Monday of the month at 2:30pm
  • Tuesday Book Group  - every second Tuesday of the month from 2pm to 3pm
  • Saturday Book Group - every second Saturday of the month 10:30am - 11:30am
