Pay or challenge a parking fine
If you wish to pay or challenge a parking ticket please visit the parking website. For any other enquiries please email us with your PCN Reference number, name, telephone number & a description of the issue and we shall answer your query as soon as we can.
Parking fines issued by East Lothian Council's parking attendants are called Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs).
If you've received a PCN, you can choose to pay or challenge it with our online facility or by using the telephone and postal options noted below. The online facility allows you to view photographs taken by the parking attendant at the time of issue (available 24 hours after the issue date).
Pay Online
To pay online please have the following information available:
- the PCN reference (starting with the letters EL)
- your vehicle registration number
- a valid credit or debit card
Pay by Telephone
To pay this notice instantly and easily by credit or debit card, phone our 24 hour payment line on 03433 575 700. Calls are charged at local rate. We now accept Maestro, Visa Delta, Electron debit cards and Visa and MasterCard credit cards.
Pay by Post
Send your cheque or postal order, payable to East Lothian Council to:

Please write the PCN reference on the back of your cheque or postal order. For security reasons you should not send cash.
Please note that you must leave time for your payment to reach us and that items may be lost or delayed by post. If you would like a receipt please also enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
Challenge a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN)
If you would like to challenge the PCN issued to you, you can do this online or by post. When considering whether or not to challenge a PCN, you can view photographs taken by the parking attendant at the time of issue using the online challenge process. These will be available to view, 24 hours after the PCN was issued.

- your vehicle registration number

We aim to respond to your challenge within 28 working days. Your case will be put 'on hold' and no further charges will be applied until we reply.
Lost Your PCN?
If you have lost your PCN, you'll need your unique PCN reference to enable you to pay or query it. To obtain a note of your unique PCN reference please send your vehicle registration number to parking@eastlothian.gov.uk
