Nutritional regulations

Our menus are nutritionally analysed to ensure that they meet the Scottish Government's regulations for school meals.

The new Nutritional Requirements for Food and Drink in schools (Scotland) Regulations 2020, took effect from April 2021. They are centred around four key themes to make school meals even healthier. Find out more.

Cashless catering

This system allows parents or guardians to deposit funds on their child's card through an internet payment, or allows the pupil in the secondary school to top up their card using a cash machine in the school. One of the most important aims of cashless catering is to minimise the stigma attached to children and young people who are eligible for free school meals.
